At last!

A day that was warm enough for the bees to fly and the snowdrops to open and welcome them in. We even had some sun!

So much for spring being in the air. Winter continues. Bees housebound.

I've just turned the television on -- and before I could switch channels saw Amy Williams win her gold medal.

Cold, wet and uninviting

Our day of sun yesterday was just that - a one day only event - now we are back to cold, wet and orrible weather.

The car has had to have another new tyre put on. There was nail in it - the second one to go that way - only two old ones left now. Still, not bad, STS put it on before I had finished scanniing through the local paper.

We have house guests at the moment. I just stopped the two year old putting my bunch of keys in her little bag before going for a walk. Lucky I think, as I imagined her taking them up the road to the park and me not knowing looking to find them in every pocket, nook and cranny in the house.

The bees are beginning to fly

The sun was out this afternoon and the feeling that spring was not far away and that winter will soon be over did not seem unreasonable.

What's the weather like today?

The weather is trying to make up it's mind what to do next. It's a still day but not as cold as it was. There is no wind, no sun, no rain. It's just a grey still day. But I think there may be pancakes for tea

Snowdrop walk

Went on my first snowdrop walk today. Nice to get out of the city for a while. Sunny afternoon but winds still coming from a cold direction and only one or two hardy bees were flying in the allotment.
